terms & verbiage

understanding these could change everything.

Did you know that in order for a word or phrase to be subject to "regulation" by the FDA or any other governing body that it must first be defined by that body?  In other words, the fact that terms such as natural, organic, hypoallergenic, for sensitive skin, etc. have widely accepted meanings among consumers does not necessarily impact how they are used by personal care manufacturers.

Some of the most commonly used terms in the cosmetics industry are listed below.  Take a closer look at the differences in what the public reasonably assumes they mean and how major brands use them in their marketing efforts.

Natural Organic Naturally-Derived
Nature-Identical Pure Non-Toxic
Fragrance Free For Sensitive Skin Hypoallergenic
Eco-Friendly GMO's Contaminants
Peptides MMP Enzymes SOD Enzymes
Free Radicals Flavonoids
