Black tea extract is extremely high in anti-oxidants and has been found effective in protecting the skin from UV-radiation related skin damage.  While it does an excellent job of absorbing UVB, it is not as effective with UVA rays.

It contributes properties that encourage more complete repair of damaged skin cells, including the DNA damage that occurs within cells.

Black tea extract is widely accepted as a safe, non-toxic ingredient in both hair and skin care products.
